Set just off the coast of Africa, Reunion Island is a small volcanic French island located in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar and about 200km from Mauritius. With a total area of 2500 square kilometers, it's truly an island. It is a place of many contrasts, on the south coast of the island lies the de la Fournaise, the world's most active volcano, in the west lies 27 kilometers of unspoilt beaches, and in between you'll find lush mountain and forests, waiting to be explored.
Each area of the island from the forests to the seas is filled with its own delightful assortment of wildlife, flora and fauna, from panther chameleons to parrot fish, sea turtles, sharks and migrating humpback whales.
